How To Dress in Your 70s
If you've searched online for how to dress in your 70s, you've probably noticed something.
A lot of the advice feels old.
The clothes are matronly. The outfits feel dated. And the overall message seems to be that once you reach your 70s, fashion is less about enjoying what you wear and more about following a completely different set of rules.
But maybe that's not what you're looking for at all.
Maybe you simply want to dress better.
You want your clothes to feel more current. You want to know which styles still work for you and which new ones are worth trying. Maybe your body has changed, your lifestyle has changed, or you've realized you've been wearing the same styles for years and you're ready for something different.
None of that requires you to start dressing like a different person just because you're in your 70s.
So, what should you wear in your 70s?
That depends on you.
Two women can both be 72 and need completely different wardrobes.
One may want help updating the clothes she already owns. Another may be starting over after retirement. One may love jeans and sneakers. Another may prefer dresses and flats. One may want to experiment with current trends, while another simply wants to stop feeling frumpy in her everyday clothes.
That's the problem with so much of the advice you'll find online.
Your age alone isn't enough information to tell you what you should be wearing.
What matters is where you're struggling and what you want to change.
Maybe you need help figuring out:
which current styles would work for you
what your wardrobe is missing
how to put together more outfits with the clothes you own
what works for your body now
how to update your style without replacing everything
what to buy when you're ready to add something new
Those answers won't be the same for every woman in her 70s.
